Manitoba and the Canadian Shield

The intent of this paper is for you to determine:

• what rock types may be found in the part of the Canadian Shield located in Manitoba
• how or when these rock types were formed

To do this you will need to research the Geological Provinces in Manitoba.

Requirements:

• Description of rock types, their origins, and approximate age.
• Discuss provinces in which the rock types are located. Use any illustrations you think will help
• Discuss nature and importance of Greenstone belts and where they may be located in Manitoba
• Discuss the Churchill Superior Boundary Zone and the Thompson Nickel Belt and their relationship to the Geological Provinces in Manitoba
• 2 page paper, including illustrations (optional) and cover page
• APA reference list and citations
